Thai Ghost in Japan Installation (2018)
Thai Ghost in Japan is an installation consists of video mapping and illustrations over film photography. The concept is putting Thai ghosts and Thai urban legend creatures into Japanese environments. As a person who is always been scared of ghosts my whole life while living in Thailand, I noticed that my fear of (Thai) ghosts were almost gone once I've moved to Japan. Since ghosts have no form, why wouldn't it be impossible if Thai ghosts were to appear in Japan as well?
Art works were created by using black and white film camera, the film was self-developed, printed out and the ghosts were drawn over the printed pictures. The characters were hand drawn by using pencil, charcoal, and marbling to create textures.

This video mapping was projected on curtain next to my bed. The video shows the shadows of the trees and the visibility of a Thai urban legend creature "Preta". I often have insomnia throughout my whole life since I was a child, and one of the main reason was my imaginary of ghosts and creatures in the dark, which often times my fear grew bigger when I sleep next to the window.
